| 04.16.10 General’s Wine and History Trail 2009 Campaign Winners Announced With a great inaugural year behind, The General’s Wine and History Trail announced the winners of the 2009 campaign. The grand prize, a one night stay at the well known Auberge Provencal in White Post, Virginia was won by Dave and Kathy Scarbalis of Fairfax, Virginia. Terri Hauser of Alexandria, Virginia took the second prize, a $75 gift certificate from The General’s Wine and History Trail. To be entered into the prize drawing campaigners had to visit each of the 10 wineries along The General’s Wine and History Trail and get their Campaign Journal stamped by each. Completed Campaign Journals were then thrown into a large chest for the drawing. 03.14.09 Plan a day or weekend to visit the wineries on the General's Wine & History trail, where history and wine come together. As you drive from winery to winery, you'll enjoy the picturesque views and savor a moment in history. During your weekend trip on the General's Wine Trail visit Bluemont Vineyard, Fox Meadow Winery, Gadino Cellars, Lost Creek Vineyard, Philip Carter Winery, Swedenburg Estate Vineyard, Three Fox Vineyard, and last but not least, Veramar Vineyard & Winery. These wineries offered great wines, a highly knowledgeable staff, a warm and friendly atmosphere, spectacular views, and a memorable wine tasting experience just outside of our Nation's Capital - Washington D.C.. So make a date with the General's wine trail and lose yourself in a day or two of tasting Virginia wines! |
